Big Bear Fourth of July celebration one of best in state
Big Bear’s annual Fourth of July celebration will feature a spectacular fireworks show put on by the Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake and underwritten by the city of Big Bear Lake and with donations from many local businesses and individuals. The Big Bear Fourth of July is one of the largest and most elaborate fireworks displays put on in Southern California.
Fireworks are shot off from the middle of the lake from a large barge, prepared and manned by local Rotarians and a crew from Pyro Spectaculars. Thousands of people line the shores of the lake each year to view this amazing display of pyrotechnics. Additional fireworks are shot off from a smaller barge on the lakefront near the Marina Resort for the enjoyment of those participating in the annual Rotary Fireworks and Barbecue at the Marina Resort.
The Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake, in conjunction with the Marina Resort, annually hosts a barbecue in the resort’s events tent and shoreline. This event typically brings in hundreds of hungry folks looking for good food, beverages, live entertainment, games, and the spectacular fireworks show.
This year’s dinner will feature food from the Barnstorm Cafe and Nottingham’s Tavern with a variety of dining options.
There is a $20 hot dog ticket for children 12 and under. A $27 entry ticket will get each adult person a hot dog or Nottiburger or marinated tri-tip sandwich meal from Nottingham’s and entry to the Marina viewing area for the lakefront fireworks display (bring your own lawn chair and blanket). The meal includes two side dishes and a soft drink.
