The Big Bear Convention Centerannually hosts a family fun Old Fashioned Country Fair to celebrate the Fourth of July…
Before heading to Lakeside to enjoy fireworks this year on America’s birthday, enjoy a great outing steeped in Americana at the Big Bear Convention Center’s Old Fashioned Country Fair…
The Big Bear Convention Center is well known as the home of the annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest, which has been named as one of the top Oktoberfest celebrations in America. However, the unique polygon-shaped structure has also housed musical theater, a bar, a nightclub, a restaurant, numerous community meetings and countless other get-togethers.
One event that is produced at the Big Bear Convention Center that is truly a building block of Americana is the annual Fourth of July Old Fashioned Country Fair. The name, steeped in tradition dating back to when funny dressed men, women and children were wandering around on Plymouth Rock, brings to mind three-legged race, watermelon eating, fried chicken, fireworks and a time when families and friends gather to renew bonds of love and camaraderie.
It’s a time to dress in outlandish costumes of Red, White & Blue; to raise a glass of anything from whiskey to soda, or a mixture of the above and to celebrate America’s birthday.
This year the celebration takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. The convention center is located at 42900 Big Bear Boulevard, at the intersection of Division Drive, in Big Bear Lake. It’s easy to find, as Big Bear Snow Play with its go carts in the summer and tubing in the winter is located just across the street on Big Bear Boulevard.
